The National Historic Site that was once Kenney Memorial Hospital is now New Salem Baptist Church. Where Dr. John A. Kenney healed the sick, Rev. John K. White heals souls. Where Dr. Kenney's wife; Frieda, worked in the kitchen and prepared food for the patients, New Salem Baptist Church feeds the homeless and the hungry. Where young John Jr. helped his father out by manning the telephones, New Salem Baptist Church answers the calls of those in need and in despair.
